Pulse Stage Lighting Helps Stone Temple Pilots Shine at New Jersey’s Famed Stone Pony

(Hillsborough, NJ – August 12th, 2011)  Pulse Stage Lighting, a leading provider of high quality lighting, audio, video, and staging, recently helped Stone Temple Pilots put their best foot forward when they provided unique lighting and rigging services for the cutting-edge band’s performance at legendary rock music venue The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey on July 26th.

Supporting the unique requests specified by the show’s lighting design, the Pulse Stage team devised a rigging solution for the venue’s outdoor summer stage that successfully brought a front truss nearly 12 feet off the downstage edge. “This important measure helped ensure that lighting fell over the stage and the audience and that the light hit the performers’ faces and not the top of their heads,” says Pulse Stage Lighting President Scott de Villers. “We were excited to engineer a way to make that happen.”

Supporting this creative effort were Jason Dermer, Owner of Farmingdale, New Jersey-based Asbury Audio and the Technical Director for the Stone Pony, Paramount Theater, and Asbury Convention Hall, as well as Jimmy Cannon, Vice President and General Manager of 4Wall Lighting in Moonachie, New Jersey, which supplied the lighting gear used in the show. “There are always challenges at this waterfront setting, such as wind issues, etc., but the Pulse Stage team, in conjunction with our riggers, came up with a creative solution to meet the client’s needs,” Dermer says. Agrees Cannon, “this show required a sophisticated set-up involving moving intelligent lights, but Pulse Stage never failed to deliver its customary brand of strong technical expertise and excellent execution.”

“We had a great team working with us in Asbury Audio and 4Wall and we were happy that we could accomplish the goals set out by the band and The Stone Pony staff to help make this show a success,” confirms de Villers. “Overall,” he concludes, “we love the challenge and the vibe of The Stone Pony and always look forward to working there.”
